The Jolly Foundation - Family foundation
The context
The family wanted to formalise its support for good causes in Bolton and beyond.
The challenge
Establish a 'gold standard' UK-registered charitable foundation that offers flexibility and family control of their giving, without an administrative burden that would take away the joy of supporting good causes.
What we did
We were commissioned in 2024 to plan and register The Jolly Foundation. This included:
- Coordinating the legal, accountancy and Charity Commission process
- Creating the foundation's branding and website
- Governance training and support
- Grant strategy support, including due diligence and ongoing grant management
- Impact reports and compliance
- Trustee meeting schedule, minutes and administration
The Giving Department set our foundation up properly from day one and took the administration off our hands, so we can focus on the part we enjoy - supporting good causes in Bolton and beyond.
